Description
Human organoids provide an opportunity to study myelination in an entirely humanized environment. The complex interactions between oligodendrocytes, axons and other glia provide vital environmental cues that support and, in disease, prevent efficient myelin repair and remyelination. These seed funds will help develop the techniques necessary to establish this system at UB and provide key preliminary data for myself, Drs. Feltri and Wrabetz to utilize these approaches in upcoming grants to NIH and elsewhere.
